Happy Relaxing Christmas!

This Holiday season is a stressful time for many. As a matter of fact, statistics are showing that 9 out of 10 US Americans are joyful, but also very stressed and overwhelmed with finances, loss of loved ones, unrealistic expectations, job stress or losses, etc..

One of the areas that is affected by stress is our brain. Brain health is a big focus today! We all want to have sharp brains until the end. There are many aspects as to why the brain can deteriorate. Today, we’ll focus on stress.

When we’re frequently under stress, our body goes into the “flight or fight” mode. This means the flow of oxygen to the brain is going to be inhibited. The brain is toward the bottom of the priority list to get oxygen. It’s instead going to the limbs, so we can fight or flee.

This can cause inflammation in the brain we don’t feel. The point being stress is hard on the brain and can be a frequent problem causing brain degeneration that is a perpetuating cycle.

Having the right nutrients to cope with stress is REALLY helpful. Magnesium is a one nutrient we are seeing many deficient in. We’re told 85% of the population is deficient. (This can lead to several other health problems, too.) When it comes to choosing the right one, it is important to note that we see problems with many using different ones out there as it can cause digestive upset, so having a time release one is best. I work with a fantastic, sustained release option that I am happy to share with anyone interested.

And don’t forget Adaptogen herbs, the go to for those stressful times or if our body is in the rut of chronically producing too much cortisol. It will pull it down, so we are being pulled back into a more mellow mood. I work with a fantastic Stress Relief blend of adaptogens that really work to calm those cortisol levels down. It is a game changer!

We can’t control life and avoid all stress, but we can help protect ourselves from it and keep the oxygen flowing to the brain. We want it to last a lifetime!

Happy relaxing Christmas!
