STAY HEALTHY THIS SUMMER!

A Few Tips for a Healthy Summer

The sun is out, the temperature is rising, and the days are longer. It’s the perfect time to get outside and do all the things that you love in the summer. But it’s also a great time to think about how you can stay healthy this summer season. Knowing how temperature and sun exposure affects your body is an important part of wellness. So, here are a few healthy summer tips to help you both enjoy the season and prioritize wellness.

  1. Stay Hydrated well in the heat! Hydration is important all year round! The common recommendation is to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day, but in the summer, your body may need more. It’s hot outside, and depending on your activities, you may sweat more than usual. Make sure to replenish the fluids and electrolytes your body needs. It’s important to get essential electrolytes your body needs without the extra sugar, calories, and artificial ingredients typically found in leading rehydration beverages. I have a few I can recommend. Ask me and I will give you the scoop!

2.  Don’t forget to protect your skin! We love the feeling of sun on our skin, but sunburn? No way! UVB rays from the sun are the main cause of those nasty sunburns, and longer exposure can severely damage and age your skin. But using a sunscreen with at least SPF 15 will protect your skin from 93% of UVB rays. If you want to protect and moisturize your skin at the same time, while nourishing it with vitamins and nourishing oils, you want to try my favorite mineral moisturizer. This sunscreen contains naturally derived mineral titanium dioxide for chemical-free SPF 30 broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It helps to protect and improve the appearance of your skin’s health as well. It’s a game changer all year round.

3. Enjoy your activities and exercise outdoors by taking walks, hikes, biking, etc. – go to the park, local walking trails, etc. A great way to enjoy nature and be active at the same time.

4. Take key supplements to fill in the nutritional gaps and to help build optimal health more in addition to a healthy clean diet. When you have a lot going on during the summer, your body is going to need plenty of energy and good nutrition. You can fill potential nutrition gaps with a good daily multivitamin, minerals, and maybe you need some extra support for your gut health. with all the potlucks, grilling out, and certainly those occasional sweet treats, it can contribute to more issues and congest your body more. to understand what your body needs is important.
