Aging happens to all of us, and it starts on the inside.
It’s staggering, but this is true: our cells are attacked over 500 trillion times every minute! Wow, that is scary! It is not only attacked by our modern diet and toxins in the environment but also by the wear and tear that we can’t avoid by simply being alive. This accumulated damage from these attacks causes your cells to age, and when your cells age, you age.
There is good news though. I just love scientific research and the latest that has come out now where we can actually have a way to protect our DNA from damage, blunt the inflammatory response from these attacks, reduce formation of damaging AGE proteins, protect against oxidative stress and neutralize free radicals, and boost energy in our cells by increasing mitochondria. This is huge!
While cells do possess ways to repair damaged DNA, the body’s ability to repair DNA damage becomes less efficient as we age. We know that inflammation really is the root cause of most diseases. Inflammation is a natural reaction in the body. Inflammation can lead to oxidative stress, which contributes to cellular damage and cellular aging. Advanced glycation end products (AGE) are proteins (Think sludge-like substances in your cells). AGE proteins accumulate in our tissues as we age and are thought to contribute to the aging process and age-related conditions. Your cells simply don’t function as well overtime with this accumulation.
So, what are free radicals? Where do they come from? And what can we do to neutralize them? Free radicals are highly reactive molecules. They are formed internally when our bodies carry out normal daily processes. They can also come from external factors, including a diet high in processed food, stress, exposure to environmental toxins, and a lack of exercise.
Mitochondria are the powerhouses of our cells. They fuel all the functions a cell needs to perform in order to remain healthy, which in turn powers our bodies as a whole. As we age, they decline. This decline can lead to a decrease in energy production.
New studies done with a key polyphenol blend, resveratrol, and the muscadine grape (extra chromosome) have shown to repair DNA damage, reduce oxidative stress, which helps prevent damage to the mitochondria, but it doesn’t stop there. In laboratory studies, these key ingredients have been shown to increase our mitochondria which means, we get more energy. Who does not want that? Pretty amazing and such an exciting breakthrough in the area of anti-aging.
So, are you ready to become ageless and feel better? Reach out for more details on how you can.
